Loss, Part One

I’m not quite sure when it happened exactly, but it did.  At some point, emptiness replaced contentment.  Anger replaced appreciation.  Desperation replaced fear.  Purposeful, joyous movements became perfunctory…curt…nonexistent.  Things that were comfortable became ill-fitting.
