30 Days of Thanks 2014 – Day 8

My arms aren't that hairy.
My arms aren’t that hairy.

Today I am thankful for sleep. More to the point, I am thankful for being able to listen to my body’s internal clock as opposed to our alarm. Today, I am also particularly grateful that my daughter’s internal clock woke her up even later than mine…nearly nine!

When I allow myself to get the sleep I need, and listen to my body, it’s amazing how everything that hurts does so a little less, and anything that might have bothered me seems less significant.Canker sores, the little white flags my body sends up to my mouth

when I push it too hard, diminish quickly with adequate sleep.

And for this, I am grateful.

I'm 42, a remarried mom of an 8 year old girl and a toddler son, a teacher, and a writer. People tell me I tend to be brutally honest and ...tell it like it is, so I had hoped to use this outlet to keep me sane while I got used to my new life as a stay-at-home Mom back when I was home with my daughter....it worked. And it's been therapeutic through the end of a marriage and the emergence of me...
