Peaceful Sunday mornings remind me that one of the things I most like to hear is…absolutely nothing at all. The quiet is incredibly restorative, especially when I hear nothing but chatter all day long during the week. If all you hear is noise during the week (and even if that’s what you prefer), try to work in some quiet weekly, if not daily, even if it’s only for 5 minutes.
And because of the way my mind works (often in song lyrics), you get another gem for today.
Simon and Garfunkel from 40 years ago…

That’s the power of silence.” The Simon and Garfunkel song is mentioned. http://m.nautil.us/issue/16/nothingness/this-is-your-brain-on-silence
Ooh- thank you! Will be reading that when my eyes are more fully open 🙂 have a wonderful Sunday!
Amen! Some people don’t understand what that need is like…and they’re probably the ones we need a break from! 💆
Yup! 🙂
I live for complete silence. Perfect song choice!
🙂 thanks!
I NEED silence at some point every day….Thankfully being retired I can have it – after hubby leaves for work!
That’s true – because you certainly don’t have it while he’s home – G-d bless him 🙂
One of my favorite songs! And activities–listening to silence. Sweet and healing.

Indeed 🙂 Thanks for your comment.
I look forward to getting home at the end of a busy day where it is nice and quiet. No music, no TV, no computers for a little while so I can relax and unwind in the silence. 🙂
