Wednesday Word of the Day – Momster

mom·ster  —  \ˈmäm-stər\  noun

1:  A Mom of abnormally voluminous attitude, or a Mom who normally deviates from acceptable “mom” behavior.

2:  A Mom who threatens.

3:  A terrifying Mom.

4:  A highly successful Mom.

Examples:

Those mommy cliques at the park are full of Momsters who think their toddlers poop doesn’t stink.

I try not to be a Momster, but when Maya whines about wanting ice cream after two bites of dinner and claims she’s “full” – I sometimes have to give myself a time out!

That lady is a Momster — she’s raised 3 kids, while running her own business, her house and taking time for herself…she’s my idol!

*This one was inspired by some tagging I noticed on a trash can at the park when I took Maya the other day.  I’m pretty sure the taggers (can you call an 8-year old a tagger?) probably meant “monster” but it made me chuckle.  Already made it into the Urban Dictionary….but I like it nonetheless….

Happy Wednesday!

I'm 42, a remarried mom of an 8 year old girl and a toddler son, a teacher, and a writer. People tell me I tend to be brutally honest and ...tell it like it is, so I had hoped to use this outlet to keep me sane while I got used to my new life as a stay-at-home Mom back when I was home with my daughter....it worked. And it's been therapeutic through the end of a marriage and the emergence of me...
