30 Days of Thanks 2015 – Day 26

Thanksgiving is my favorite holiday and this was the roughest one I’ve had in the last several years for a few reasons, namely because this year was not mine to spend with my daughter. This was the first one I’ve not spent with her since she arrived on Earth and the emotional toll was one I’ve dreaded since the divorce papers were finalized. I did not underestimate its impact. So today, I want to express my gratitude to my family, especially my mother, stepfather, sister, brother-in-law, nephew, Charlie in my tummy and the Man who helped me make the feast today and kept my spirits up as I missed my favorite girl. Together is the best place to be and I am so thankful that we all could be that today.

I'm 42, a remarried mom of an 8 year old girl and a toddler son, a teacher, and a writer. People tell me I tend to be brutally honest and ...tell it like it is, so I had hoped to use this outlet to keep me sane while I got used to my new life as a stay-at-home Mom back when I was home with my daughter....it worked. And it's been therapeutic through the end of a marriage and the emergence of me...
