IMG_5610_fall has arrived

shaking red five-points away from their branches,

creating a carpet to crunch with your boots,

and darkening skies before evening commutes —

quick on its heels was a plodding rain

reminiscent of days spent across the pond

gloomy and gray, an unending wet

quenching parched ivy in a valid attempt —

Gaia is trying to pay summer’s dry debt.
