Even if it isn’t easy sometimes. Even if the cards on the table are crap. I still like to see the bright side.
I took my car in for a simple oil change this weekend, and walked out with my bank account down by nearly $1K because the motor mounts needed replacing, my front brakes needed work, and some belt wasn’t tense enough (maybe it just had a glass of wine?)…on top of that, an old email account was hacked and decided to spam a bunch of people, and I wasn’t feeling that great. Crappy cards indeed.
If not for this hand though, the Man and I would not have taken a long walk over the course of a few hours (nearly 4 miles), we would not have had Pumpkin Spice Lattes and breakfast at Starbucks, we would not have wandered aimlessly around Barnes & Noble, we might not have seen a movie on the spur of the moment (Gone Girl – twisted, but very good, just like the book…), and we would not have spent so much time outside enjoying the finally beautiful, Southern California Fall weather.
But we did all of that with the hand that we were dealt. So yes, I definitely do like to see the bright side of things.
Sometimes it takes discipline to keep a good mindset but it is so worth it! The one thing we do have control over is what we decide to focus on:). Glad you enjoyed your day in spite of the setbacks
I was just saying to the Man last night that the discipline to keep that mindset for me is a daily struggle, but yes it is worth it! Thanks for commenting 🙂
That is life in a nutshell – the way you see what your life is all about is all attitude!
Inspirational writing. I like it. But is it bad if the lasting impression I get has something to do with pumpkin lattes? Looking forward to sleeping and waking up, so it makes sense to buy one.
LOL no – Pumpkin Spice Lattes are NEVER bad 🙂 Thanks for reading and commenting.
Well you know what the boys from Monty Python like to say…
Nobody expects the Spanish Inquisition 🙂
No, always look on the bright side of life 😛 LOL
