Lately, I’ve been on a haiku kick. I like the challenge of having to say something with only 17 syllables, having to capture emotion and choose words very carefully. I tinker. It’s fun – like the Twitter of poetry (or is Twitter the Haiku of Social Media? Somebody probably said that already…)
It’s also fun having Malibu less than an hour away, so I can revel in the beauty that is Southern California, draw peace from ocean air, and be grateful for being alive. I was inspired today to write the poems below and take the pics that follow.
#1
White wisps smudge blue sky
Golden light hugs mountain curves
Crashing waves glisten
#2
Salty air curls hair
Seagulls sing for their supper
Sand and sea spray dance
Beautiful pics!!
#2 is my favorite!
It was a spectacular sunset- hard to take a bad photo… And thank you!
Very nicely done 🙂
