Today I’m thankful for those unplanned minutes that I have with Maya where we can just enjoy each other’s company.  I got a call from her preschool today that she wasn’t feeling well, and complaining that her head hurt.  I wrapped up work as quickly as I could, cleared it with my supervisor and headed over to pick her up. She saw my car pull into the parking spot and I could see her face light up from the play yard.  As I got out, she ran from where she was to the fence, yelling, “Mommy!”…we gathered her things, came home, ate an early dinner and watched some Sesame Street (an old favorite).  It was only an extra hour and change, but those minutes were precious and filled with sweet kisses, cuddles, and “I love you”s from my clinging girl.  And for that, I am grateful.
